Continuing A Rich Tradition and Legacy:
20th Annual Women for Racial Justice Breakfast
For 20 years, YWCA Pasadena’s – now YWCA Glendale & Pasadena – Women for Racial Justice Breakfast has been a space and experience that has brought people together for deep learning. It serves as an invitation to action to advance racial justice. This year’s Breakfast continued that rich tradition and legacy as we gathered around the theme of “Making the Improbable, Possible.”
Over 530 supporters from the Pasadena and Glendale communities gathered for the first in-person event since 2019 to lift up incredible individuals whose work to advance racial justice is contributing to the groundswell of change in our institutions, communities, and culture.
The event emcee was KTLA’s Emmy Award-winning news anchor Cher Calvin and 2022 honorees included:
A special thank you to all our generous and caring sponsors and supporters who helped us meet and exceed our goal, raising over $105,000 to support our Girls’ Empowerment Programs, including Camp Rosie, Girls Circle and TechGYRLS. We can’t thank you enough!
At YWCA, we demand a world of equity. We envision a world of opportunity. We commit ourselves to the work of racial justice. We will get up and continue to do the work until injustice is rooted out, until institutions are transformed, until the world sees women, girls, and people of color the way we do: Equal. Powerful. Unstoppable!
