Empowering Young Minds: The Pretty Empowered Event
The YWCA Glendale and Pasadena is proud to announce the success of our recent event, “Pretty Empowered,” held in collaboration with Ulta Beauty. This incredible gathering brought together 89 young girls from the community for a day of empowerment and inspiration. We also provided a platform for parents to connect and support each other in their parenting journey. Here’s a glimpse of the event that left a lasting impact on all participants.
Empowering the Next Generation
Pretty Empowered was a transformative experience for the 89 young girls who attended. The event was designed to empower them with knowledge and inspiration in three key areas:
- STEM Exploration: The girls delved into the exciting world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Through interactive workshops and activities, they gained hands-on experience in STEM fields, fostering curiosity and enthusiasm for these subjects.
- Health and Beauty: Our partnership with Ulta Beauty allowed the girls to explore the world of beauty and wellness. They learned about skincare, makeup, and self-care, emphasizing the importance of self-confidence and self-expression.
- Career Aspirations: The event featured inspiring women from the beauty industry who shared their stories and insights. These role models offered valuable advice on pursuing careers in beauty and related fields, motivating the girls to dream big and work towards their goals.
Supporting Parents
While the young girls were engaged in these empowering sessions, parents had an opportunity to connect with each other. The Parents’ Group offered a space for parents to share their parenting experiences, offer support, and build a sense of community. We understand the importance of a strong support network in raising confident and empowered children.
Nourishing the Body and Mind
No event is complete without good food! Attendees enjoyed delicious meals and refreshments, providing an opportunity to recharge and connect with others.
Hosted at Glendale Community College (GCC)
Pretty Empowered took place at Glendale Community College, providing a central and accessible location for everyone to come together and be part of this empowering event.
