Glendale, CA, March 25, 2019

Linda Offray, Executive Director of Shepherd’s Door Domestic Violence Resource Center of Pasadena, will be honored at YWCA Glendale’s largest annual fundraising event, the Legacy Luncheon and Heart & Excellence Awards on April 18.

Linda Offray is the founder of Shepherd’s Door, a local resource center providing assistance and support to victims of domestic violence. She works to prevent the cycle of domestic violence through youth education, public awareness and collaboration with community partners such as YWCA Glendale, and she has helped thousands of individuals in our community. Linda’s inspiration started at the City of Pasadena’s Public Health Department, where she worked with pregnant women, mothers and families. She recognized that domestic violence was a critical issue that often goes unnoticed and silent in the community. For this reason, she is passionate about providing visibility and education to local high schools, middle schools, churches, universities, community agencies, support groups, counseling sessions and workshops.

This year YWCA Glendale will honor one organization and six outstanding individuals who have demonstrated great community responsibility, determined leadership, courage in spirit and action, and exemplary service to break barriers and further the status of women and girls in the community. This year’s Heart & Excellence Award honorees are Linda Offray, Marisol Espinoza, Stela Fejtek, Elissa Glickman, Karen Swan, Sue Wilder and The Armenian Relief Society of Western USA.

The annual Legacy Luncheon enables continued investment in YWCA Glendale programs and brings special attention to individuals who have taken great strides to extend the YWCA mission into our community. This year, the 22nd Annual Legacy Luncheon and Heart & Excellence Awards will be held on Thursday, April 18th at La Cañada Flintridge Country Club. The event will begin at 11:00 AM, and will include networking, a silent auction, luncheon, program and the Heart & Excellence Awards.
